My copies of Mizna’s Myth & Memory issue were delivered to my friend in Boston in 2023(?) to account for shipping costs; I received them last night. I wrote the poem in 2022(?) and climbed a tower in an old mosque in 2021(?) with this same friend after some kids told us not to, it’s too dangerous, and then I wrote about this in the poem, as well as the boba tea we got after.
I’m proud to be in the same pages as leena aboutaleb and Samia Saliba, two of my dear friends, as well as every other individual whose work and words are in this issue. I’m also endlessly grateful to George Abraham’s editorial work, and for agreeing to publish “manic episode”, a poem that is difficult for me even today.
